The Week That Was #439

1. Fire, folklore and fantasy at the National Botanic Garden of Wales this October

Fire, folklore and fantasy awaits at the end of October as the National Botanic Garden of Wales plays host to an immersive after dark event experience. The Dragon’s Breath will take place from 24th-27th October set against the backdrop of one of Wales’ most iconic landmarks. A combination of fire, music, poetry and performance will illuminate the Botanic Garden, ahead of its 25th anniversary next year. We’ve been working hard to share the news with media, leading to early coverage about the event in Wales Online, South Wales Guardian, Nation.Cymru and Cambrian News.

2. Teaming up with a renowned music influencer for Llais Festival

In the course of our day to day work we collaborate with influencers most days to enhance our campaigns and reach broader online audiences. And for this year’s Llais Festival, Cardiff’s international arts festival, held at the Wales Millennium Centre from 8–13th October, we partnered with Josh from Somewhere Soul, a music influencer with around 900,000 followers. Together, we crafted a collaborative campaign that not only promoted the festival, but also aligned seamlessly with his channel’s vibe. The result? A curated video where Josh highlights the top 5 acts he’s most excited to see at the festival. The video, shared across Instagram and TikTok, has already generated 100,000 views, and counting! Catch it here.

3. Global media reach for Homeless World Cup

The Homeless World Cup is in full swing, and our MD Dan Tyte has been at the heart of the action in Seoul, helping spread the event’s message across the globe and ensuring that the incredible stories of those involved reach international audiences. There’s been huge media interest in the tournament with player stories covered in the UK, Germany, Mexico, Indonesia, Kenya, Vietnam, and Japan to name just a few. Over one hundred matches have already taken place between the 52 teams from 38 nations – and there’s more to come before the tournament officially draws to a close this Saturday.

4. Shall we circle back?

One of the key ingredients for a ‘perfect’ walk is to follow a circular route that starts and ends in the same location. This week, we’ve been working with our client, Wales Coast Path and National Trails to promote the 45 brand new circular walking routes across the Wales Coast Path, Offa’s Dyke Path and Glyndwr’s Way, that have been developed by experienced travel writer, Paddy Dillon in partnership with local trail officers. All routes have been curated using existing public rights of way, paths and roads right across Wales, so wherever you are there are plenty of stunning circular routes to explore. We helped spread the word to media leading to coverage in Herald Wales and Leader Live, with more set to follow. And you can read the blog on the Wales Coast Path website.

5. The pawfect weekend in Gower

Sea, sand.. and your favourite four-legged friend. That’s what was in store for dog-friendly travel influencer, Hannah Rogers during her cosy coastal adventure that we organised on behalf of our client Visit Swansea Bay, to promote dog friendly travel in the area. We worked with the team at Visit Swansea Bay to curate a bespoke itinerary for Hannah and Alfie to showcase her trip on her socials – from dining by the sea to walks on Rhossili, it’s safe to say they had a pawsome time…
