1. Celebrating Black Business Week
Black Business Week has been celebrated across the UK this week with a series of events dedicated to unifying black professionals and entrepreneurs. To take part in the conversation on behalf of the British Business Bank we worked with Leon Stapleton, the Bank’s Welsh Ambassador for their Start Up Loans programme and founder of football training academy, We Make Footballers. We helped to share the story of Leon’s career development and experiences with the Western Mail and business-live, in a feature sharing the ups and downs of his journey as the son of two Windrush generation immigrants in the world of work.
2. Working with influencers to spread word of The Dragon’s Breath
Next week, the National Botanic Garden of Wales is playing host to ‘The Dragon’s Breath’, an immersive night-time experience that will combine fire, music, poetry and performance for four nights in a trailblazer event ahead of the Botanic Garden’s 25th anniversary next year. To promote the event, we’ve been working with several influencers who’ve posted to their social channels about the event, encouraging bookings. 3. Carmarthenshire: Coast, Country… and Mountain Biking
It’s confirmed, Mountain Biking UK say so: Carmarthenshire’s iconic Brechfa Forest mountain biking trails stand the test of time. Piggybacking off the trip we organised with our client, Discover Carmarthenshire to test the new Hafod Trails back in May, the UK’s biggest mountain biking magazine couldn’t resist revisiting one of the longest standing trail centres in the UK, set in the mossy magic of Carmarthenshire’s Brechfa Forest. Six pages of glowing review later, Mountain Biking UK journalist Rachel Bennet fell in love with Brechfa Forest Trails all over again, not to mention the local riders, mouthwatering pub grub, and welcoming West Walian vibes. 4. Interviewing Welsh college learners about transport funding cuts
Following the news that Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil councils are planning to withdraw funding for some school transport, we arranged for the BBC to speak with Coleg y Cymoedd’s Principal, Jonathan Morgan, as well as some of its learners to hear about how such cuts will impact them getting to college. The story ran on BBC news online as well as on broadcast on Wales Today.
5. Manufacturing headlines for Axiom
Axiom Manufacturing Services has been leading the UK electronics sector for the better part of three decades, and for most of that time we’ve been there to promote their successes. Today, that work sees Axiom take the top spot in Wales Business Insider’s guide to Wales’ advanced manufacturing industry. Additionally, the news that Axiom is set to break all records with double digit growth in 2024 has been reported by global industry titles, including evertiq.
