The Week That Was #381

1. Conde Nast Traveller delves into the world of His Dark Materials

After a record 24,000 visitors explored the first ever His Dark Materials Exhibition in Swansea’s Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, the free exhibition extended its run until September 2023. Working with our client, Visit Swansea Bay, we’ve been spreading the word on the major exhibition of costumes, concept art, visual effects footage, and key props with the media, so much so that it’s caught the attention of travel media giant, Conde Nast Traveller. The ’14 things to do with the kids for 2023’ listicle outlines the exhibition as a must-visit for fans of the hit BBC and HBO series, so regardless of whether the sun decides to stay or not, there’s lots to see and do in Swansea Bay.

2. Having Allot of fun with Keep Wales Tidy

Did you know it’s National Allotment Week? Our client, Keep Wales Tidy, did. But how could they forget, with green flag allotments, gardens and #LocalPlacesForNature across Wales – from Goytre to Porthmadog – blowing up their social media channels with celebratory messages and posts?

To mark the national calendar date, we had the pleasure of co-ordinating social media comms encouraging more people to join the movement to protect our beautiful country and help build a greener, cleaner Wales. We even partnered with Keep Wales Tidy’s chief deputy executive, Louise Tambini and the First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford – both keen allotmenteers – to share words of wisdom and inspiration to the green masses.

National Allotment Week isn’t over quite yet. Catch up on how you can do your part all year round on Keep Wales Tidy’s social channels – Keep Wales Tidy (@Keep_Wales_Tidy) / X (twitter.com)

3. More questions on the future of Wales answered.

Last night we ran the second of our live Q&As event for the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales as part of their ongoing engagement work. Presented by S4C’s Owain Williams, questions submitted by the public were asked of Commissioners Dr Anwen Elias and Lauren McEvatt and broadcasted live for anyone with an interest in Wales’ constitutional future through the Commission’s Facebook channel.

4. Promoting Start Up Loans in the new issue of Wales Business Insider

The new issue of Wales Business Insider dropped this week and in it was an advertorial we’d coordinated for the British Business Bank to promote their successful Start Up Loans programme. The advertorial featured within the magazine’s annual Rising Stars feature, which showcases ambitious entrepreneurs aged under 40 in Wales. The advertorial, penned by Jess Phillips (pictured), the Banks’s Senior Manager for Wales, outlined some of the exciting new start-ups in Wales that the Bank has helped to support. 5. A top-rank for Itec in Wales Business Insider

Our client, Itec Skills and Training, has had a lot to celebrate recently – being named number #1 on Wales Business Insider’s list of companies with less than £15m in turnover in the latest issue of Wales Business Insider. Itec’s new head of quality, Vicky Galloni, was also featured in the magazine expressing her aims for enhancing the experience of Itec’s young learners in helping them acquire the skills they need to reach their full potential. You can read more about Itec’s success in the latest August/September issue of Wales Business Insider, which is out now.
