The Week That Was #323

1. Thanking foster dads this Father’s Day

We’ve been celebrating all types of dads in the run up to Father’s Day this Sunday with a letter to editor campaign on behalf of our client, Five Rivers Child Care, an independent fostering provider and social enterprise. We’ve secured coverage in newspapers across England and online on the Independent, the Independent Daily Edition, the Sunderland Echo, the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Sheffield Star, the Swindon Advertiser and the Southern Daily Echo, to name a few. We also secured an interview with BBC Radio Wiltshire for Five Rivers foster dad, Kerry Wilson. You can listen to his interview on BBC iPlayer here.

2. Bisley collaborates with The Celtic Collection

This week we helped our client, office furniture manufacturer Bisley, to reveal details of its latest project – a collaboration with one of the UK’s leading hotel groups, The Celtic Collection. Their new Tŷ Hotel location in Milford Haven opened in April 2022, and Bisley designed, produced and installed a bespoke range of furniture for the hotel’s 100 bedrooms. The collaboration within the hospitality sector is the latest in a string of significant projects for Bisley, whose history lies primarily in office furniture design and manufacture.

So far the story has achieved coverage on South Wales Argus, Pembrokeshire Herald and Office Equipment News, among others.

3. Sticking to success with Cymru Instagram content

Calon Lân. Viva Gareth Bale. Yma O Hyd. After the success of our inaugural Cymru Instagram stickers last summer for the Men’s National Team squad at the UEFA European Championships we were tasked with calling up a few more options for fans to enjoy ahead of the five Cymru matches over the last fortnight. Deciding to compose our refresh around the songs that fans have been belting out at the Cardiff City Stadium and further afield over the last year our stickers were lined up ready for an appearance ahead of the first match against Poland and have been viewed over 90k times since. Find them yourselves by searching ‘FAW Cymru’ on your Instagram stories.

4. Fast forwarding to the good bits with Itec

As a part of their contract to deliver the new Jobs Growth Wales Plus employability scheme for young people in Wales, we’ve been working with our client – training and support provider Itec – to attract youngsters to the scheme. We’ve developed and run a cross platform social ad campaign and secured Wales Online advertorial coverage for the program which you can view here.

5. Talking angel investment and introducing a new CEO for British Business Bank

Swansea-based manufacturer of zero waste circular plastics, Smile Plastics, which boasts clients including Mercedes-Benz, is on track for international growth following an injection of angel investment finance via British Business Bank’s Regional Angels Programme. The company manufactures products from recycled materials to create decorative moulding panels used for café countertops to swimming pools and stylish modern furniture. We shared the business success story and secured coverage on Wales Business Insider, Business News Wales and Wales 247, to name a few.

In other British Business Bank news, we also helped the Bank share the news of its recently appointed new CEO, Louis Taylor. To date coverage has appeared on Business Live, in the Western Mail and Business News Wales.
