The Week That Was #382

1. Results day celebrations at Coleg y Cymoedd

After years of work, days of exams, and likely a few sleepless nights, A-level results day arrived this week for Welsh learners. Our team was on hand at Coleg y Cymoedd’s Nantgarw campus to speak with learners receiving their A-level and vocational results and share their achievements with media across Wales and the UK. This year, the college celebrated a whopping three Oxbridge places as well as its highest ever number of Russell Group acceptances. You can read some of our success stories from the day in titles including BBC News, Guardian, Wales Online, FE News, Pembrokeshire Herald, and the Caerphilly Observer.

2. Good to Go, Sharing A-level success stories with Gower College Swansea

As part of the Good to Go campaign, the Working Word team arrived at Gower College Swansea bright and early to record social content capturing all the nerves, excitement and joy as students collected their grades. Student interviews, filmed by our digital reporters, were uploaded across the College’s social channels in real time. A great morning celebrating exam wins and discussing the next steps for learners as they progress to top universities and careers!

3. The six wonders of Wales and Ireland

Working alongside our client, Celtic Routes, a cross Irish sea initiative between the six counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire in West Wales and Wicklow, Wexford and Waterford in East Ireland, we’re sharing the wonder of this awesome corner of the world by running a film campaign across Instagram and Facebook. To ensure the films get the views they deserve, we’re boosting each of the videos targeting people across the UK and Ireland interested in travel to encourage them to visit these six beautiful counties. So far, a week into the campaign, the films have generated 321,311 impressions and reached 152,083 people.

4. Bisley sign two new major clients to continue growth trajectory

Newport-based office furniture designer and manufacturer, Bisley, is building on recent high profile key client signings with the announcement of two new deals spanning the telecommunications and banking sectors. The multi-million pound projects with the BT Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are a significant milestone for Bisley, who also announced the news of a project at the Googleplex campus in California earlier this year. We shared news of the BT and EBRD deals with media this week, so far landing coverage in Wales Business Insider, Wales 247, Business News Wales, Business Live and the Western Mail. The story was also the lead item on the Business Live weekly e-newsletter.
