1. Visit Wales’ coastal saunas
Bright, frosty days call for brisk winter walks and toasty sauna sessions. We’ve been working with Visit Wales and Wales Coast Path to promote the best scandi-style saunas scattered along our country’s coastline, offering the perfect respite after a day on the coast path or even an icy sea swim. We created a guide to the best walking routes along the Wales Coast Path with saunas to finish off for the Visit Wales website, alongside social media content to spread the hwyl.

2. Bee Robotics creates a buzz with Middle East expansion

A pioneering biotech company from Caernarfon, Bee Robotics, has taken a significant step into the Middle Eastern market thanks to export support from the Welsh Government. The company recently signed a major deal in the region, where its cutting-edge technology will be used to enhance automation in allergy testing. With allergy testing becoming an increasingly vital field in the region, the market is projected to reach an impressive $500m by 2030. The breakthrough comes after Bee Robotics met with representatives from the region at MEDICA, one of the world’s largest medical trade exhibitions in Germany, which it attended as part of a Welsh Government trade mission. We shared the news with Welsh business titles, landing coverage in Wales Business Insider, Wales 247 and more.
3. A week of events with the British Business Bank
It might be playing host to Six Nations stars soon, but this week the Principality Stadium opened the doors to the British Business Bank for the Welsh leg of their tenth birthday celebration. The Power of 10 event, which was attended by around 100+ stakeholders across the small business finance ecosystem, was a special occasion to reflect on the economic impact of the Bank in Wales over the past decade, and celebrated the businesses and partners that have helped to deliver and embody the Bank’s mission. And then on Wednesday we were at the Blake Morgan offices in Cardiff’s Central Square, where the British Business Bank hosted a roundtable session featuring around fifteen experts from the SME financial landscape alongside private equity investors to discuss the private equity environment in Wales.

4. Principality boosts access to cash —OneBanx at a time

High street bank closures have an impact on communities. Our client Principality Building Society is helping to boost cash access and services in Buckley, Flintshire with a cash kiosk in partnership with shared banking innovator OneBanx. The first in North Wales, the Buckley kiosk follows two installations in Principality’s Cowbridge and Caerphilly branches – fulfilling the building society’s ongoing commitment to its branch presence, by making cash more accessible in communities affected by recent bank closures. The OneBanx technology enables customers of all major UK banks to deposit and withdraw cash from their accounts without needing to use a card. Principality aims to expand the service to areas that may lack access to high street banks, making cash more accessible to Welsh communities. Read more about this exciting new innovation in Insider Media, Wales 247, The Leader, and Nation.Cymru.
5. Putting miwsig Cymraeg on the map
North Wales siblings Jona and Martha were tired of waking up to find out that they’d missed out on yet another Welsh language gig that they had no idea was happening – so they came up with Awni. Meaning “we will go” in Welsh, the interactive gig-finder ties together the scattered information surrounding Cymraeg gigs happening up and down the nation (and beyond) on one handy map. With financial support from the record label Sain through the ARFOR project, the map aims to make it easy to find your favourite artists’ upcoming gigs. We helped launch the website by spreading the word and picked up coverage in Nation.Cymru, BBC Cymru Fyw and Radio Cymru. Ahead of Dydd Miwsig Cymru’s tenth birthday next week, every gig taking place as part of the celebration has been uploaded to the map. So, if you’re still unsure where you’ll be on 7 February, head to Awni.
